Double-Sided Deshedding Rake – Cats & Dogs

The Fur on the Cat Is Fine. The Fur Everywhere Else Isn't.

Spring arrives, your cat transforms into a dandelion, and every surface in the house becomes a fur archive. Brushing wouldn't be a war if the tool actually agreed with cat diplomacy, which most stiff-bristled brushes absolutely do not. A rounded-tooth deshedding rake approaches grooming the way cats prefer: soft pressure, smooth glide, and over before anyone's dignity files a complaint. It lifts the loose undercoat at the source, so less of it redistributes to your dark knitwear.

Gentle Rake, Double-Sided Efficiency

This double-sided deshedding rake curves rounded stainless-steel teeth through the coat to tease out loose fur and work through tangles and mats from behind the ears down. On one side, wider spacing for loose coat and knots; on the other, finer teeth for finishing passes. The grippy hand-shaped handle fits snugly, and the compact head handles even indignant cats at chin-scratch acceptable pressure. For dogs too, honestly.

Colours and Sizes

• Colours: pink or blue
• Sizes: S and L (a couple of combinations run low; the selector shows live stock)
• Teeth: stainless steel, rounded tips
• Head: double-sided rake with fine and wide tooth spacings
• For: cats and dogs, short and long coats

Five Minutes, Once a Week, Fur Victory

Short sessions beat long battles: a five-minute groom on a relaxed lap or a sunny afternoon snoozer yields the best fur yield with the least theatrics. Follow the coat direction, and address mats gently from the edges inward, praise throughout. Cats who tolerate three minutes today often turn voluntary by spring.

Winning Over a Grooming Skeptic

For persnickety pets (a cat being plural for drama), introduce the rake as a sniffer first, then a cheek-rub, before any actual brushing. Short strokes, face-shy zones navigated diplomatically, treats on standby, session ends before protest begins. Most converts emerge within two weeks; the deeply suspicious may take three but celebrate spring by not dreading it.

Care and Keeping

Pull collected fur off the teeth after each session (oddly meditative), rinse the head warm as needed, and dry thoroughly. Stainless steel shrugs off years of weekly use.

Carpet Restored to Carpet

Picture next weekend: the weekly skim session done, your white cat has briefly pink-painted self-restraint, and the carpet beneath the favourite sleep spot remains, contractually, carpet-coloured. Plus one extremely smug cat, briefly lighter.
